Sewer Rates & Policies
The City of Rockport requires a deposit on all accounts, whether residential, commercial, or industrial. Bills are issued on a monthly basis. Payment can be mailed to: City of Rockport Sewer, PO Box 816, Malvern, AR 72104 or made in person at: 1472 Military Road, Rockport, AR 72104.
Payment Terms: Payments are due within 10 days of the bill date (20th-30th of the month). Failure to receive a bill does not exempt penalties or disconnection for non-payment. We are not responsible for late remittances made through the mail.
Late Penalty: A late penalty of $4.00 or 10% depending on the account type will be added to your current bill amount if the bill is not paid by 5:00 p.m. on the 10th day following the due date.
Disconnection Policy: All accounts billed an administrative processing fee will be subject for disconnection. Service will be reconnected after the delinquent balance and fees are paid in full.
Returned Payments: Returned payments will be charged a $30.00 fee. Unpaid returned payments will be subject to disconnection. Checks will no longer be accepted on accounts having 3 returned payments. Payments will be required in the form of cash, personal checks, or money order.
Terminate Service: Only an account holder listed on the account can terminate service. Verification of personal identifying information will be required. Service will be disconnected within 3 business days or a later specified date, excluding weekends and holidays.
A final reading will be taken on requested termination date and a final bill or deposit refund check will be mailed to the forwarding address provided.
Reinstated Service: Accounts with outstanding balances will be required to pay the entire balance before new service can be established: along with any deposits required and/or service fees.
Tampering Policy: In the event that equipment has been tampered with or unauthorized usage has occured, service will be disconnected immediately. A tampering fee ranging from $100 to $300 will be due before service can be restored.
Sewer Leak/Repair Policy: If leak or repair is needed on the customer's side of the system, it is the customer's responsiblity to have the leak or repair fixed immediately. The City of Rockport has the right to turn off the sewer system off until the customer can have the leak or repair fixed. The sewer system will be turned off until the repair is complete and confirmation is supplied.
